Mary's Meals is a charity which was founded in 2002 by Magnus McFarlane Burrow from Scotland. He visited Malawi in Africa that year during a famine. He met a boy called Edward who was 14. After witnessing his mother dying, he said that all he wanted out of life was "to have enough food to eat and to go to school some day."
Magnus and his charity started feeding 200 children that year and now currently feed 1 million children in schools every day.
Our School Council held a toy sale last November and donated £250 to Mary's Meals.
Then lots of parents donated £12.20 to sponsor feeding a child for a WHOLE YEAR !
With the government's help and our own fundraising, over £1000 was sent to Mary's Meals.
