Minister Nichola Mallon Visits our School
We were delighted to welcome Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon to school today to discuss our successful bid to have new 20mph speed limits introduced outside our school.
The safety of our entire school community is our top priority and we are very aware of the concerns regarding our car parking (or lack of) outside our school gates. We are continuing to work towards finding a resolution to car parking, but we hope that the new road signs will be a reminder to everyone to take time and care when picking up and dropping off children.
Minister Mallon said today, “This is another step forward in our effort to make our roads safer, however, it is vital that all road users continue to take care on our roads. Together we can deliver safer places for all our communities.”
New road signs will be erected in the form of standard fixed speed limit rounded signs with flashing amber lights set to come on at the times the reduced speed limit applies.
We extend our thanks to Patsy McGlone and Christine McFlynn for their help with our bid.
