Mrs Hagan's class have a special visit from local Mountain Runner, Tony McGuckin.
3rd May 2018
- In Numeracy, our P4/5 class have been learning lots about coordinates, directions and using a compass.
- We discussed how using a compass and knowing your directions is important to sailors, pilots, farmers, cyclists, mountain runners etc.
- Anna-Rose's father (Tony), kindly agreed to visit our class this morning, to discuss how important it is for him as a mountain runner, to know how to use a compass properly.
- The pupils thoroughly enjoyed listening to him as he guided us through a fantastic presentation which included, photos, maps, a compass, his running kit and its contents.
- Finally, we had a "hot seating" session when Tony answered lots of super questions from our pupils.
- Sincere thanks to Tony and Anna-Rose who helped make this a memorable Numeracy lesson on coordinates & directions.
